HomeTrust Protect
Protection after you hire
When a worker steals, abuses a child or disappears without notice, report it on HomeTrust. Verified incidents join a shared watchlist so the next family is warned before they hire.
Watchlist search
1 verified incident found
Theft · Gasabo · March 2026
RIB case on file · Verified by HomeTrust · Subject notified
Second search: no matches
Only verified or resolved incidents are ever shown.
What you can do
Three ways HomeTrust Protect keeps homes safe
Report an incident
Log theft, fraud, abuse, violence, absconding, negligence or property damage with dates, location, RIB case number and evidence.
Search before you hire
Search the verified watchlist by national ID number, phone number or name before you even send a verification link.
Automatic screening
Every HomeTrust Check verification is screened against the watchlist. A verified match caps the trust score and flags the report.
Incident types you can report
Reporting
How reporting works
A careful, evidence-based process — not a public shaming list.
- 1
Report to RIB first
For crimes, open a case with Rwanda Investigation Bureau (dial 166) and keep the case number.
- 2
Submit on HomeTrust
Describe what happened, link the worker's HomeTrust report if you have one, and upload evidence.
- 3
We verify
Our trust & safety team checks the evidence and RIB case, and gives the worker a chance to respond.
- 4
Others are protected
Verified incidents are added to the watchlist and flagged on every future verification of that person.
Verification
How an incident is verified
Every report moves through clear statuses. Only verified and resolved incidents are ever visible outside our team.
- RIB case number checked for crimes such as theft, fraud and abuse
- Evidence reviewed: photos, contracts, receipts, messages, witness statements
- Subject identity confirmed against the national registry
- Subject notified and given at least 7 days to respond
- Decision recorded with reasons and an audit trail
- 1Submitted
Private to you and our team. Never shown to anyone else.
- 2Under review
We contact you for evidence and notify the subject of their right of reply.
- 3Verified
Evidence confirmed. The incident appears in watchlist and verification screens.
- 4Resolved
Case closed (e.g. restitution or court outcome) — shown with its resolution.
- 5Rejected
Not enough evidence or a dispute was upheld. Never shared.
Privacy safeguards
Fair to employers. Fair to workers.
HomeTrust Protect is designed around Law N° 058/2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy and overseen by our data protection officer.
Verified only
Unverified reports are never shared. Nothing is published to the open internet.
Right of reply
Workers are told about a report and can respond, correct or dispute it at any time.
Minimal disclosure
Searchers see the incident type, district, month and status — never the reporter or the evidence.
Retention limits
Entries are reviewed periodically and removed when no longer necessary or when a dispute is upheld.
Personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in preventing harm to households, with registration and safeguards required by the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA).
Knowingly false or malicious reports breach our Terms of Use. We cooperate with RIB and the courts on lawful requests.
